New Goalie Coach at OCWPC – Dan Hackett

Orange County Water Polo Club is excited to welcome Dan Hackett to our coaching staff as our new goalie coach!

Dan is a two-time Olympian and competed for the USA Men’s Water Polo Team in 1996 and 2000. He is a Fina World Cup Champion as well as a two-time Pan American Games Champion and two-time World University Games Champion. He was a member of the Senior National team for 10 years (1991-2000).

Dan competed for and graduated from UCLA where he was a two-time Collegiate All-American and two-time NCAA Tournament All-American.

Dan has coaching experience as an assistant coach at UCLA, Harvard Westlake and as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) instructor.

Coach Dan has great passion for the sport of water polo and especially for teaching the fundamentals and the art of goalkeeping to today’s aspiring athletes.

Often working directly in the pool with his student-athletes, Dan’s goal is to meet each player ‘where they are’ in their own personal development cycle Transferring his specialized knowledge and training techniques to individuals who crave improving day-to-day brings immense satisfaction to Dan.
